BIG UN CUMMIN UP!
.yup, a big un indeedy as this weekend sees us back at the awesome boozer that is the cross keys morley on sat, always a great night in front of our 'home crowd'
.
then on sunday we are taking part in a maseeeeeeev charity do at the frontier batley which sees the erics live on the stage that eric and ernie made their own, a special day for us indeed.
.
its gunna be great to be part of this eight band megathon of rock which features some of Yorkshires best and favourite bands

and all cash raised on the day is going to Cancer Research UK, the leading cancer charity.

Entrance is £3 in advance an £4 on the door

and it all kicks off at 2pm with go kommando, and continues with suicide blonde, empress, top notch, the erics, splash alley, invisible idols and finishies with the dunwell brothers at 9pm

it would be great to see you there even if you can only make it for a few hours

but even if you cant and want to make a small donation just buy a ticket and its done

a rather special erics gig for your diaries is a ticket only event if you fancy going, its at the frontier batley on sun 25th july from 2 - 10 pm, an eight band megathon of rock with some of Yorkshires best and favourite bands on Yorkshires most famous stage. A corner of Las Vegas in West Yorkshire! The recipient of the fund raising is Cancer Research UK, the leading cancer charity. Entrance is £3 in advance and £4 on the door.

last night saw us return to the thornhill arms after a year since our last gig there and the big question is, why the hell did we leave it so long!!!
.
awsome turnout of mates, musos, locals and a few newies who were all in fine voice (probbly helped by the huge amounts of beer being supped)
.
heres what mav who runs the keys website had to say about the gig
.
Ventured over to the far side of Leeds this early Sunday evening to catch the second set of everyone's favorite boy band, The Erics. to say everyone was shoe horned into the Thornill Arms like a pack of sardines is an understatement & with the tempreture hot & climey & the boys in the band sweating as if they had just walked out of a sauna this had all the ingredients of one of those famous Erics gigs.
.
You have to wonder how these guys perform constantly with a combined age of 500 years & still to reach their sexual peaks. but performed they did & blasted the Thornhill with all the favorities & the addition of a couple new ones which had the Thornhill bouncing & singing along to every song the guys performed as only The Eric's can.
.
Just one point of interest is if the boys could invest in a towel each to wipe down their extremely sweaty bodies instead of just using Pauls & making use of Big Sexy Dave's large t-shirt even though he his still wearing it
.

DUCKING AND JIVING

a massive thanks to all that made it down to the duck n drake in leeds on valentines day, it was awesome!!

kicking the set off with I fought the law had the entire boozer singing along from the word go, and once they got up dancing there was no stopping ‘em

new song ‘know your enemy’ went down a storm, as did the revamped ‘ girl all the bad guys want’ (best we’ve ever played it) and crazy horses with paul doing the verse vocal (job well done)

we’re holing up in the thornhill on tues night to learn two rock classics which will be more than likely making their debut at the rock of the north charity event at the tut and shive on sat march 6^th

but before that, get on over to the lion in Castleford on sat 27^th feb to catch us rocking out to the vegas mob, its always a great night at the lion!

and before that BSD and dave resurgence will be hosting the thornhill arms jam night on thurs 25^th feb

even if you don’t play owt its worth a trip out to catch some of the areas top muso’s fiddling about with each other

.its a busy un for the erics boys next week as they are flying to rome to hole up in the studio for five days and promise not to come out until they've learnt at least one new song!!!!!
.you a heard right, a new song, or maybe even two , or maybe even that number that comes after two

.so if you get on up to the carriers, morley on fri 5th feb you will be able to catch the lads doing bad things to new stuff
.you may also notice a bit of a difference in the overall look of the band as both sam and BSD have been sticking to a strict diet since the new year began in a bid to get into better shape

we are having jan off to get a couple of practices in and get some new songs sorted for you. then we're back live where we love it in feb with our first gig at the carriers morley on fri 5th feb

but if you need a rock n rolly fix before then you can catch paul and little sexy with the FLATLINERS on sat 9th jan at the little un south emsall, then on fri 22 sam is playing with mojo at the blues bar harrogate. the day after on sat 23rd you can catch BSD and heavy load at the cross keys morley. and the day after that, sun 24 heavy load are at the highwayman pontyfract and mojo are at the clowne blues club

BIG BOYS BIRTHDAY BASH
.this weekend sees the erics mob gathering together to rock both morley and castleford whilst celebrating BSD's barfday!
.sat 12th sees us up at the new inn churwell, morley for our first time under the new landlord, its always a bit special this boozer, as we have a lot of good mates and memories there, plus it usually gets rammed to the rafters and everyone gets totally bolloxed
.and if that wasnt enough, we are heading over to the bright lights of the cas vegas strip on sun 13th when we play a teatime gig at the crimea castleford

ITS FOR CHARIDEE MATE!

dint realise til i stuck it on here that our last three gigs were all for various charities

kicking of with the quids for kids bash at the wardrobe in leeds that raised £1,770 for martin house hospice

cheers to the venue, the punters who turned up and the other two bands, suzey and the sinners and the cardinals who made it such a great do

give us a bell if you need anyone for next year

.
next up was an all day sunday bash in the crimea outdoor arena (car park) castleford

this was to raise money to buy a local kids rugby team a new kit

i was a well set out do with jonny L and italian tony doing a cracking job on the sound and a great stage set up, but due to sam and BSD playing later that night with mojo and styckleback we dint catch any of the other bands or get chance to stay long

then last sat saw the double header of us and resurgenge storm the stage at the lion cas to raise cash for the rotn to the core cancer charity

resurgenge played a belter of a set, looked and sounded great

and we just loved it (once we got sam off the bog)

cracking do, great atmos and everyone on fine voice plus we ended up raising £385

our next gig is sat 10th oct at the tut n shive yeadon

FESTY-JAMMY-CARRIERS

.soz its been so long (oooer!) since we last posted owt on here but we've been touring the far east as barry mannilows backing band

.but now that we're finally back on the mighty shores of blighty, you can rest assured that we'll be ramming useless information and silly pics down your throats as if we'd never been away

first off is this years lionfest, which we played early for a change due to prior arrangements

. another belting day in the cas vegas sunshine which we really enjoyed

cheers to H n julie for inviting us again, to joe, steve and graham for all the help and to the crowd and the rest of the bands for making it one of the best

erics and sportsman are two words that you would'nt usually put together

(unless you count sumo as a propper sport!)

but sunday saw the rock n roll sexgodsuperstud machine that is the erics take to the stage at the sportsman pub morleys charidee music bash

we missed the first few bands by the time our lear jet found a space in the car park, but did manage to catch Empress's full set which was pretty awsome

they got a great sound for a three peice backline and the vocals were spot on and at times gobsmacking

next up was eleven year old dylan who, with a rather massive acoustic geetar gave us a run through of some great tracks including wonderwall, bad moon rising and his own rather splendid composition called gordon brown, top stuff

after dylan was jonny mac who along with his mate on big stand up bass and funny accent gave us some belting tunes, starting with a brilliant version of here comes the sun and continuing with stray cat strut they got everyone singing along right up to the last t rex tooon that i cant remember at the mo as the free beer was kicking in

did i mention it was FREE BEER for the bands

this pic of LSD is the proof that the beer was indeedy FREE!

we were on next and after a power cut mid second song which resulted in a rather silly run thru of the okey kokey we had a blast

peeps seemed up for a bit of a bounce and a singalong

even though there were a lot of new faces for us, they soon picked up their cues and were woh oh oh oh ohing and daddle lah dahing in all the right places

TOP GIG!

the last band i saw before i had to get off were MELVIN

a group of younger lads playing some great songs (and playing them very well) which got their mates up to the front giving it some sh*t!

these are a really good band to watch out for, top musos with a great singerist!

all in all a great day, will let you know the total raised for macmillan asap

thanks to landlord col and all at the pub plus the soundguys who did an awsome job

did i mention it was FREE BEER!!!!
