The Crimea 22/1/05

A great night at The Crimea.

The band played loads of new material - some well rehearsed and some.......well some a bit dodgy but the alcohol drenched rockers of Cas loved it anyway.

Great to see Richard and Sharon as well as Dave Bell venturing to a Cas vegas gig for the first time.

Despite broken strings and a the usual late arrival Sam played some blistering guitar in Freebird. Other new material included High and Dry, American Idiot, Sweet Home Alabama, and a really dodgy version of Ace of spades.

Rumour has it that U2's Vertigo is the next up for The Erics treatment!!??

The Crimea, famed for a war and now for a rocking Erics gig. Mind you it looked for a time like a new version of the war might break out as two of the locals came to blows over a 'lady friend'! And the band? Well they played on.....And how! They really cranked up the dB to the obvious delight of a packed pub. Some great new material, the highlight of which was Sam's guitar solo on Freebird- we are not worthy- and of the older stuff the stand outs for me were Swords of a Thousand Men and Won't get Fooled Again (but then, they always are!)
