.
SQUIRES BASH
.
sat 10th saw us arrive at the ROCK OF THE NORTH convention halfway through Red Mosquito's set of classic, classy rock, a great version of metallicas sandman was the highlight for me, but with songs from queen, GnR and many more they kept everyone happy, and dancing
.
next up were leeds lads and erics buds Styckleback who gave us a high energy rock / punk workout, highlights were the stranglers and the arctics songs, they even got there kit off for the dancing ladies at the front
.
(FAT BASTARDS)
.
and the band on before us were the bluflies from york, a totally different kettle of trout these lads, playing a mixture of rock/blues with songs by hendrix plus there own stuff which was a good move to break up the rock/punk/metal vibe and give people a bit of time to chill, the highlight for me from these lads had to be the old al green number take me to the river made famous by talking heads, the commitments etc
.then we were on
.
and we loved it, with the crowd dancing and singing along from the word go
.
we decided to keep our shirts on though as we couldn't find any bras to match our guitars
.
it was also great to see so many of our leeds lot and other bands there
.
great do and atmosphere
.
will put a full review and pics on as soon as ROCK OF THE NORTH print em
