this year crimbo was complete with the erics making a VERY welcome return to their ancesteral home of churwell to entertain the throbbing masses of the new inn

what other way can we describe BIG SEXY DAVES 40th barfday bash at the cross keys
.before we say anything , heres what 'old git mav' had to say on the Rock of the North website

.

lO PEEPS , Well what can I say about last night down @ the cross-keys. The boys from the erics were absolutely `f`in awesome & that's coming from someone who usually refrains from swearing coz I'm Church of England ;-P. The building was rocking even the nearly 100 year old roof slates were bouncing along to the guys generating power, couldn't fault them one bit, was good to see them get a couple of the other guys up to belt out a tune must say nicks rendition of teenage kicks was spot on sounded better that fergal sharkys version! BIG PHILL was on fire even managed to get some arobics in on top of the seats. Paul was his usually powerful self & coming out with his world famous off the cuff quotes god he looked knackered @ the end (& I thought I was the original old git ) just joking Paul ,Sam excellent as ever can this guy play a wrong note ! only the one`s he hands over the bar of course which he printed the day before ! & Dave was defo up for his !cough 40th ! really laid into the gig even when debagged missed who did it ? went outside on one of his legendary walkabouts while playing & downing a lager @ the same time lol

Just thanks again guys for a night to remember hope everything goes well were Phil on his new venture

it was great to see so many faces we aint seen for a while
.
nick ‘the stick’ was over from N Z with his missis and joined us on a few songs, namely teenage kicks
(the one about WANKING)
.
john ‘the don’ hiley was also in attendance and added his vocal prowess to I fought the law
as did after dark vocalist steve
.
big stevie, matt n graham, andy bono, rog n malc and all their lot also made it up as well as our usual morley posse

Our dec gigs were always going to be special, with the cross keys on the sat 16th being a celebration of daves 40th year on this planet and the roscoe gig on fri 22nd being our big Christmas blowout

.

But these gigs are now set to be even more special as they will be the last two that phil will play with the band..

.
After ten years and over 400 gigs, the big man has decided to stretch his (rather long) legs and venture out into the crazy world of rock in search of something different

.

So don your hard rocking boots and best fancy pants (and bring a handy supply of tissues) and get down and join us as we plan to make his last two gigs ones that no-one will forget in a long, long time
