-THE BOYS ARE BACK-
.yes we're back in action at
SAT 2nd SEPTEMBER
and its going to rock like a mother f**ker
.
its our first gig after a short break that enabled phil to undergo plastic surgery to help him get the same proud and distinctive features of his alltime mentor/hero
.
sam meanwhile spread his wings with his death/thrash band MOFO on a european tour that took in grimsby AND sheffield
.
plus gave him time to get used to his new amp
.
dave spent his time productivly by getting ready for christmas
.
this involved finding the bloody tree
and hiring a small indusrial unit to start stocking up on beers for the festive season
.
which, in daves case starts on feb 2nd
.
paul on the other hand is still standing in on drums for slipknot and will be flying in (by private jet) from japan for the crimea gig
.
although it is thought to be unlikly that he will use the 65 piece rotating, flying , exploding slipknot kit at the crimea gig and opt for his own five piece instead
.

ROCK - YES
.
BIKES - YES
.
SHOW - DEFINITELY
.
SAT 19th AUG SAW US PLAY THE YORKSHIRE ROCK AND BIKE SHOW AT SQUIRES CAFE BAR/PUB SHERBURN
to raise cash for the
.
i could rabbit on for hours about how great the whole event was
with top class tribute bands such as Iron-On Maiden, Feral Circus, MOTORHEADACHE and aynt skynnard putting in top shows
as well as the amazing rockabilly of the cat house creepers, the old skool classic punk of the great spunksters and the execellent, as ever AC/DCness that is riff raff
(cheers for everything H)
.
but you can get a full and unbiased report on the day by steve from Rock of the North by simply following
.
BUT TO SPOIL THE ENDING FOR YOU
.
this is what he had to say about our headlining spot
.
After that spellbinding set (RIFF RAFF) who do you put on next? That's easy, you let The Erics loose with their good fun and great musicianship package. Again the crowd were dancing in front of the stage regardless of the wet car park. They were loving it! The band did their customary high quality and fun set which included Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here and The Wall, then across the Irish Sea to pick up U2's Vertigo, hits from Green Day which had air guitarists playing some huge chords and some ladies with very mobile bosoms causing some sea sickness symptoms! They were loving it. They should do too, The Erics are a great party band with a good craic between them and are polished musicians .Finishing with Swords of a Thousand Men and a second encore of Hippy Hippy Shake, the band brought the festival to a reluctant but mighty close at about 11:50 pm
.
The band were elevated to Gods after this set
.
and the reason is
.
they were brilliant!
.
cheers again to everyone who set the festival up
all the punters who braved the rain
and to the bands for giving their all to this charity event
.
a big cheers also to all the new mates we made
.
the FERAL CIRCUS lot are top lads who can cut quite a groove on the dancefloor when they're pissed enough (sam)
tony of cas who was reliving his childhood with the rock and roll of the cathouse creepers
(we will get the glenn miller experience for him next time)
plus his missis
all our cas lot, including howard and lynnette
ROTN's steve and his better half who looked after linda
roger and his better half from vanishing point
and all the biker lads and lasses who always come up and have a gab
.
i know i've said it before, but it's
FOOOKIN ACE
being in this band

WOW
.

thanks to all that came for making it our best gig ever at The New Roscoe on fri night

. the crowd were up for it big time
yelling their bollox off after every song and joining in on every bit of sing along we could throw at them

.
and talk about boogie beasts, my god, it was like strictly cum dancing on speed

.
sometimes, when you've just finished a 12 hour shift and you get home, pack the car and get straight to a pub to set up for the night without a chance to grab anything to eat, or even a chance to sit and chill for ten minutes you can think 'why do we do this?'
.
nights like friday are why we do this
.
F**KIN GREAT
.
nice to see the lads from Styckleback, bad penny and splinter, plus a load of new faces as well as the usual crew of nutters who just keep turning up every time
.
cheers
.
will let you know the total raised for the leeds sea cadets asap

YO HO HO
.

the erics have always had strong ties to the high seas
our very own Sam (master bates) Hirst once went paddling at filey, and Dave (seaman stains) Close has got a very deep bath
but this has got nothing at all to do with the fact that our gig at The New Roscoe leeds this fri 11th aug will be a fundraiser for the

LEEDS SEA CADETS

the real reason is that daves grandson ben has been in the cadets for the last year and is really enjoying it
(but not as much as his mum when he goes out camping all weekend)
.they have a base in stourton leeds where they have their bunkhouses and keep all of their gear, such as canoes and other boaty type stuff
unfortunately some local &%$£*’s thought it would be a good idea to break in and trash everything
.
and that’s where we come in
.
as well as the magnificent erics playing on the night, there will be various raffles (for good stuff like beer and more beer) and any other things we can think up to raise some cash
so get your arses on down to the roscoe for a good old party and help raise some money for a good cause whilst your at it

.
see you at
this friday 11th aug
.

.

.

the band are currently on the lookout for a piano/keyboard player
if you fancy it, or just fancy finding out more about them, check out their site and listen to some of their music
