we had'nt played or practiced for a few weeks and were even slacker than our usual bag of bollox, but everyone enjoyed themselves and stuck their hands in their rather sweaty pockets
highlights of the night had to be the stage invasion and sing along to the pistols (learn the words next time love) and two people throwing a fiver in the bucket so that BIG SEXY DAVE would put his kegs back on

Blackout , us, Black Rising and Heavy Load all took to the stage in a packed crimea and rocked the place

good to see so many of the cas vegas faithful out in force, plus a fair few of our leeds lot, also great to see blackout at last, great group, great lads

.BIG SEXY DAVE has also decided to stop polishing his head before gigs as people were left with headaches and nausea from the glare bouncing off of his bobbing bonce

We had local boys made good appearing @ the keys sat night which led to two outstanding sets from the guys who just cant put a foot wrong these days with there music ability & style which has led to a great following & crowd puller whichever venue they seem to land next
Since little sexy dave joined, the band seem to have changed direction with a lot more new material & just seemed to have grabbed that niche in the live venue market @ our local watering holes !
Sam was as sublime with his guitar work as ever,
Big Sexy Dave held the audience in has hand with his driving bass work
little Sexy Dave carried the rest of the sets through with his own unique sound
& the ever present paul carried the band with his percussion work & sublime quotes, he must lay awake all night thinking these up to put the iceing on the cake of this great band we all know & love
By the end of the night the local peeps were in a frenzy wanting more, but Sam still refused to get a round in so we had an encore, followed by another and another .......
.
What can i say but two words which summed the night up

ONCE APON A TIME...

I know its late notice and all that, but this bank holiday Monday, as well as being a charity tribute to a classic old thing in the world of rock in the shape of the beer monsters of rock charity festival at the Crimea Castleford it is also time to pay tribute to another OLD thing in rock
.
Yes, our very own Sam ‘the knob’ hirst celebrates his birthday
.
Sam being the shy, retiring type, kept this fact close to his very manly and hairy chest. And it was only by chance that big sexy Dave found his telegram from the queen whilst searching for a plaster after he tripped over sams birth certificate

.

silly to leave a carved stone tablet in the middle of your front room floor!!
. before the gig Sam will relive parts of his youth by firstly visiting the old scrungethorpe pit head where he first began work at the age of seven as a pit pony, oh how he often recalls how he used to have to get up at half past ten at night (half an hour before he went to bed) drink a cup of sulphuric acid, work twenty nine hours a day at pit, and pay the pit owner for the privilege, and then start his shift as a lumberjack!!!

. Later in the day he will also revisit the spot in gipton where he first met George Formby

.

(Sam spent twenty years in the forties and fifties as Georges decoy/stunt/ bedroom double)
. if you cant wait till Monday to give the big twot a hug n a kiss, we are gunna be celebrating at the CROSS KEYS MORLEY on Saturday

police have advised that you get there early as his zimmer takes up a lot of room, plus he often parks his little blue plastic car right in the doorway
.

if you know sam then you know he can be a bit of a drama queen who loves nowt better than a good moan

.

but if you really know sam, you'll know hes a
