It was great to see my great heroes The Who performing at live8.

Pete Towshend certainly makes the likes of The Erics look young, but seeing him hammering out Wont Get Fooled Again (again) just 10 mins after we had done it at the Churwell Footy do was some thing very special.

Our next couple of gigs, at The Carlton in Castleford 28th July and The Poplar in Altofts on 30th July, are at venues where if you make the effort to find the venue, you're usually rewarded with a great night! (phone 07960463212 (Dave) for directions)

NEW NEWS ON THE LION

dave has spoken to Keith (ex of the mill house)

who is the new landlord at the LION

he is continuing bands and our gig

on SAT 29 OCT is still on

also on is LIONFEST on SUN 28 AUG

this is an all day do from dinner/early afty till 10ish

and will feature plenty of bands

with us playing 8-30pm

so stick it in your little black books

(all money raised to go to the yorkshire air ambulance)

The Churwell Football bash was a great gig and we really enjoyed the night. I think we played one of our best first sets ever and the punters loved it dancing and cheering long into the night. Thanks to all concerned (cant wait for next year!!)

We have also nailed Hope Street by the Levellers. And this will be ready to play at our next couple of gigs:

NEWS AT LAST!!

Sorry we have been quiet for a while.

Daves back off his hols now so its back into action at the Churwell Football do on Saturday (02/07).

The News on Meg is good. She is doing very well at the moment and can sometimes be seen out and about in Leeds thanks to a high tech portable ventilator thingy??!! More news on fundraising soon.

We have heard a rumour that THE LION in Castleford has closed. This is not confirmed as yet, but do check before setting out to our gig there next week (Sat 09/07) as it could well be cancelled. We will post more details when we get them.

We are looking forward to getting back to rehearsing again, although holidays are a disruption, we have been working on several new songs. Hope Street - The Levellers, Substitute - The Who, there has even been a tentative look at Stay With Me by The Faces. I suggested When September Ends by Greenday but we shall have to see what emerges.
